In life we're all passionate about something. Some people are passionate about sports teams, or TV shows, or music groups, or movie stars, or the latest computer technology, or the newest cars, or other assorted stuff. And don't get me wrong, that's fine, even though this kind of passion is nothing more than helping to promote people and companies that don't give a rat's ass about fans or clients, and that will make more money in one day than most people make in a decade.

So what are you passionate about? what sort of passion drives you that's not fueled by a person's or a company's desire to make money? Who has suckered you lately into being a fan? a sports team? a movie star? the latest car model? a public figure or politician even? perhaps a new computer gadget? trendy clothes and sunglasses? for fuck's sake man.

Forget about all of these for a minute and get involved in a movement that doesn't require money or effort and provides instant gratification. together, let's
start a mint rubbing revolution.
Now you might think that this is yet another silly essay on a site that seems to have silly written all over it. And in some ways you might even be right. But, hey, what the hell? What have you got to lose?

The Romanian Mint Rubbing Association. Just say the name and a relaxing, soothing feeling fills your body. Images of relaxing baths, Sundays spent late in bed, idle web browsing at the office or walks in the park fill your mind. The thing is we all need our mint, damn it. We're addicted. And maybe it's about time we screamed to the world "yeah, we rub mint, and we're fucking proud of it".

But there's more to us than just plain mint rubbing propaganda. Think about the Romanian Mint Rubbing Association as a concept for a minute; for RMRA is actually

a truely original romanian cultural brand.
It sounds complicated and pretentious even, but think about it for a moment. The site is based on a concept that is truely unique to Romania; it emerged in Romania (don't let english and this author's nickname fool you - we are romanians) and can only be truely understood by Romanians; it has survived and evolved for more than three years.

How many other truely original Romanian cultural brands are there? Can you name at least three that haven't been taken from somewhere else and repackaged to appeal to Romanian tastes? Music groups? Magazines? Websites?

This site was kept alive by countless anonymous persons who contributed with articles and ideas, told their friends about the site, linked it on their pages, discussed it on forums, added it as their homepage on profiles, got excited about it and generally kept the concept alive for more than three years now.

mintrubbing.org is a website that a lot of people know about and can relate to. And that's a lot considering we don't sell anything (not even ads), we don't advertise and we don't ask for anything.

And we know you like it because you've told us so. But perhaps now, after three years, it's time you

screamed to the world "we have mintrubbing.org you fuckers!
it's our thing and we fucking love it."
Because this is your website, not ours. We just do the housekeeping around here so you can have a good time. Welcome back home.

So keep adding links to RMRA on your webpages, your blogs and your forums; keep telling your friends about the site; keep sending us articles and ideas; write mintrubbing.org on t-shirts and walls and everything else; spread the word and start a mintrubing revolution. Start a mintrubbing madness.

You do all that and we'll keep doing our part of the deal - we'll keep the site alive. It might be all we've got. All of us.
