after zoo animals are left free to roam the land and their mating spirals out of control, you may try your hand at hunting. both from a security and a humane point of view, semi-automatic weapons and/or hand grenades make excellent choices for beginners. don't trust documentaries on tv: hunting is not easy. bears, tigers or giant saurians from alpha centauri will not make for an easy catch.

weapons will be important items to consider for your security as well. while machine guns and missile launchers will most probably be no match for robot death rays or for the corrosive acid of alien invaders (and won't even dent their tough chitinous shells), at least you'll have a fighting chance against lesser evils such as humans infected with terrible mind rotting disease, robots with jammed lasers or alien pets.

stock plenty of ammunition and don't forget improvised explosive devices to disrupt the convoys of alien oppressors; after the invasion unfolds, guerrilla warfare will be humanity's last resort.
